Exciting Egyptians by 3B

We had an Egyptian day where we had the opportunity to wear costumes and learnt about lots of spooky and scary things the Egyptians did, they were very different to us.

We celebrated our topic by highlighting everything we learnt in our amazing Egyptian assembly and had the chance to dress as Egyptians again. We all talked about which part of the assembly we liked best, Ava said, “My favourite part was learning the dance.”

“ I don’t like all the gory things Egyptians did!” commented Luka. Did you know? Egyptians used hooks to pull the brain out of their nose. They thought it was a piece of rubbish!

We learnt all about the way the Egyptians prepared for their afterlife. They mummified their bodies and used a scarab beetle to trick the gods. (We even made our own) If that was not enough they also needed a book to cast magic against monsters.

Did you know the magic book had a spooky name; it was called the Book of the Dead

Quiz time!

What kind of beetle did the Egyptians use to trick the gods?

Answer below:

A: Dung beetle.

B. Scarab beetle.

C. Black beetle.
