River Dipping by 6C

On Monday 30th September, 6C went on a trip to Crane Park to do some river dipping. This blog will tell you about all the fun activities we took part in. Full of excitement, we separated into two groups and got on two different minibuses.

When we arrived, we took part in a leaf activity outside The Shot Tower. We gathered leaves of different colours and sorted them into groups on a classification tree made from chalk. After finishing the activity, we headed off for our second activity.

Once we had arrived at the river, we got changed and ready for the river dipping part of our trip. A worker from the Shot Tower told us all the rules not to break and some top tips for catching river creatures. Once that was done, we were allowed to get in the river and catch some creatures! Our favourite part was when we caught a water scorpion!

Later, we met up with the other group and put our dry clothes on. We got back in the minibus and got back to school for 3:00. We had a great time and we would love to do it again!

What creatures would you have liked to find in the river?
