4A visit the Mandir

neasden temple mandir

On Thursday 19th September, we went to the Swaminarayan Mandir, in Neasden as part of our topic called ‘Living a Hindu Life’. We really enjoyed our time there; let us tell you all about it.

When we arrived at the Mandir, we all had to take our shoes off as a sign of respect. Once we had done this, we went into a large, beautiful where we watched a video about how the Mandir was built.

After we had finished watching the fascinating video, we went up the marble stairs to the stunning prayer room where looked around at the statues of the Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

Next, we went outside to the bright and colourful gardens, which had a much-admired water feature running throughout.

Finally, we went back up to the prayer room to watch a Hindu prayer service. We all sat in silence as we listened to people worshipping, which Hindu’s call ‘Puja’. The prayer service was calm and interesting for us to watch.

We had a lovely time at the Mandir. We would highly recommend you visit it if you ever get the chance, as it is a calm and beautiful temple to experience.
