Year 3 Egyptian Day by 3M

On Tuesday 17th September, Year 3 had an exciting Egyptian Day. All of the children dressed up as Egyptians and got to take part in lots of fun, interesting and informative workshops.

The day started with an introduction from Steve who knew lots about Egyptian life. He asked us lots of questions about the River Nile.

Did you know that the River Nile is the longest river in the world?

We learnt about mummification, the afterlife and Pharaohs.

Did you know the Book of the Dead contained lots of spells to help them defeat monsters on their way to the afterlife?

Our favourite parts of the workshop were the drama, learning about Tutankhamen, seeing a sword and looking at the different treasures.

We had lots of fun and we can’t wait to find out more.
