Hounslow Urban Farm – 4M

Year 4 had a fantastic time at Hounslow Urban Farm as part of their topic Human Impact.

While there we saw 2 pigs that were huge, we fed them and stroked them – it was pig-tastic.

In the tent, we were able to see animals and insects. The first was a cockroach you could hold it or pet it, next was a stick insect, a scorpion, a tarantula, a slimy frog, a toad and a lizard. There was a snake that you could put around your neck, some children that were brave did it! There was a python that you could put on your knees, a tortoise and a massive snail.

Next, we went to the park to have some fun. We went on the tour and fed some animals. The first animals were goats, when you feed the animals you have to hold your hand out straight so you don’t get bitten and the goat licks your hand (it felt weird!) We went to see some chickens in a cage but there were a lot of chickens roaming the whole farm.

After, we went to see some sheep, the lambs were so adorable! When some of us fed the sheep they were fighting on who gets to eat the food. There was a massive tortoise, in the next section there were so many little turtles. After that we saw some rabbits that were relaxing. There was a little hut where you could adopt a rabbit. We saw some pigs that were sleeping but one snorted really loud – it was so funny. All of us went into a room that had humongous pigs.

Overall we had a fantastic trip to Hounslow Urban Farm.

Have you been before?
