Blog Winner- One Dream

How often do you go the shops and buy a delicious bar of chocolate? How many children get a million eggs at Easter? Are you one of those children? You take chocolate as a treat. Most people can have chocolate whenever; some people to take a life risking adventure for it. One of those children is 12 year old Sienna.

Most children her ages would dream of a phone or an iPad but not Sienna.

Sienna, who is an extraordinary young girl, appreciates anything that is placed into her ice-cold hands. Sadness erupted inside her as she thought of her mother and the years that killed her heart. Everyday her father would go to work. He gave up his job to fulfil Sienna’s dreams; he became a cocoa farmer. Every week, his wages would get smaller and smaller. So small that it was getting harder and harder to keep a roof over his and Sienna’s heads.

It was coming up to Sienna’s 13th birthday and she only wanted one thing. As much as she wanted her mum back, she wanted what her mum wanted- chocolate.

Her dad’s eyes widened when she told him.

“I would never be able to get chocolate!” he shouted.

Numb and paralysed with sadness, she ran off. Normally, Sienna would appreciate anything her father could get but not this time as she was desperate for her dream.

It came to the day of Sienna’s 13th birthday and she ran downstairs to giver her dad a hug. “Happy birthday darling!” He held out his hands and Sienna’s eyes glistened like diamonds.
