This year’s Safer Internet Day, is all about remembering that it’s our internet and our choice. Put together by the UK Safer Internet Center, the aim of the day is to promote the positive use of digital technology for children.

The most exciting part of the day is that  Mr Ballentine and Mrs Dight need your help. They would like YOU to create an internet safety poster to help everyone understand the importance of internet safety. By entering this competition you could be part of helping people keep themselves safe on the internet.

So How Do You Enter?

Children can enter the competition by designing a poster on A4 paper about internet safety and ways to keep safe whilst online.

Posters should be handed in to Mr Ballantine or Mrs Dight by Tuesday 12th February 2019.

We will be sharing the winning poster here on the blog and it will be published in the school newsletter. We can’t wait to see all your entries.

To help you out we have included some of our tips that we think we will be useful, as well as some links to informative websites.

Here are our top tips for keeping safe on the internet:

  • If a you receive a message you are unsure of, let an adult know. This could be a parent or a teacher.
  • Never share your personal information online.
  • Remember, you might not know who you are talking to even if they say they know you.
  • Only visit sites that you have been given permission to. If you are searching for information for homework we suggest you use Kidrex, the children’s version of Google search. No adults allowed!
