Unicorn were crowned the Mathletics winners after the juniors took part in a week long Mathletics competition to find out which team point group could score the highest points.
Every team point group worked really hard to get points at home and in lessons, as part of this fun competition that helped improve maths throughout the juniors.
All teams did extremely well and Griffin came a close second in the competition followed by Dragon and then Phoenix.
The final scores of the competition were:
4th: Phoenix with 1216 points!
3rd: Dragon with 1226 points!
2nd: Griffin with 1295 points!
1st: Unicorn with 1600 points!
The winning team were given a trophy and were able to wear their team’s colours for a day.
We spoke to children in year 6 about what they thought about Mathletics and the competition.”
Arthur said “It’s very inspiring to practice your maths if you struggled a bit.”
While Aadil enjoyed the whole school spirit of the competition. “It was very thoughtful for them to make the whole school involved and it inspires you to do Mathletics more.
Even though the competition is over you are still able to win certificates each week by completing Mathletics activities as home. If you haven’t tried Mathletics, the website can be accessed by any device. In addition, students can challenge other students to see how many questions they can get correct in a certain amount of time.
Congratulations to everyone that took part and if you loved the competitive spirit of this Mathletics competition be sure to look out for more maths competitions on Mathletics and Times Tables Rock stars.
